Cocoon X-ray and Cleaning ServiceWant to know more about the quality of your bees without cutting open a bunch of cocoons? We will x-ray a sample of about 30 tubes or a cup of loose cocoons, to determine proportion of cells with healthy-appearing adult bees, dead larvae, mite parasites, chalcid wasps and other parasites and predators, as well as an estimate of sex ratio. For tubes we can also estimate the average number of cocoons per nest. We can help you remove hairy-fingered mites and other parasites from your bee nests. If you are using Binderboard we can help clean out cocoons with our cleaning machine. |
